The hour and a half from the nurse saying I could hold her til the moment she was in my arms, could not have been longer! And the three hours I held her on my chest, could not have been faster!! There is nothing in this world more wonderful and amazing than finally holding that sweet little angel that you have dreamed about for so long. Chris and I just stared & talked to her the entire time telling her all about her family, friends and pets waiting for her to come home. We also gave her a pep talk about behaving herself for her tests tomorrow and we think we were quite convincing! After a while she started clenching her fist and making sucking movements with her mouth which is really great considering all the meds she has been on. Since the meds all have a sedating effect, she has been in a very deep sleep this entire last week. The nurse was really excited that she responded so well to being held. Last night Ruthie Lou was weaned off some of her meds that help with seizure activity and blood pressure, which is a side effect of the meds. The neurologist was very pleased with her progress overnight and so far we are looking good for the MRI tomorrow afternoon. Overall, today was a good news day!
